Writing for WDW Magazine was a fun experience. Not only did I get to share my tips for planning a Walt Disney World vacation, I met some truly talented writers while on its staff. Two of its writers, Kimberly Masimore & Stephanie Shuster, just dropped Disney Pocket Guide to Magic Kingdom on Amazon and sent me a copy to review.

First-Time Visitors Dream Disney Guide

I delved into the copy like a first-time visitor would, honestly. And, to my delight, it has everything you need to know about Magic Kingdom in a pocket-sized paperback. It not only gives the basics of the park, it gives pro tips for experiencing it firsthand.

Disney Pocket Guide to Magic Kingdom: What Makes it Different from the Rest of the Disney Guides

Most of the Disney park guides you’ll find on book shelves or online cover all four of Walt Disney World’s theme parks plus Disney Springs. And, while they’re very effective for giving you details, they can be pretty heavy.

So, thinking of my Disney park bag, I don’t like a lot of weight to cart around. Also, I wouldn’t like a guide to all the WDW properties in my bag if I’m only going to one park. Here’s where Disney Pocket Guide to Magic Kingdom comes in super handy. You can throw it into your bag without the extra weight and get on with your day.

Additionally, there is a place in the back intentionally left empty for personal notes. That’s a really good idea to help you plan.

Disney Pocket Guide to Magic Kingdom: Tips for Using

I’m always looking for something to do while waiting in line for rides and attractions. Many times, it involves checking my email or looking up attraction wait times. But, while waiting, this would be a perfect time to brush up on some Magic Kingdom knowledge.

From visiting the parks a few times a year, for 10 years straight, I’ve learned so much about the parks. But, for new visitors, it’s like learning a new language.

Disney Pocket Guide to Magic Kingdom comes in super handy as you won’t feel like you have to cram for an exam. You can read it ahead of your trip and then reference it when you go.

But What If I’ve Been to Walt Disney World Several Times? Do I Need to Read this Disney Guide?

It definitely wouldn’t hurt. There are plenty of sections titled “Been There, Done That, Try This!” that point out things you may have mentioned. They’re almost like Magic Kingdom Easter Eggs and I found it fun to see how many I already knew.
